It is obvious that there are a lot of spammers out there, but backlinks are super important to businesses and these people also support your blog and your apparent fashion sense, which I think is great by the way. I used to live in London and now live in New York City and work for a small design firm based in Brooklyn, we all appreciate the work on you website and its overall design layout good work. If you ever plan on visiting NYC, NYCRentals, you should look us up, here's our website http://www.nycrentals.com, men and women's fashion thanks a lot, keep it up

This one of the prices that you have to pay for having a blog. Either you stay on "dofollow" and you filter the comments, either you move on "nofollow" and you almost eliminated the comments. You can also make some good link building to raise your traffic, and than you can remove your "dofollow" problem.

I honestly don't understand why these so called SEO people are still spamming blogs. Don't they understand that if the owner of the blog gets feed-up and changes the blog to nofollow that all their comments are now also nofollow and all their efforts have been wasted? It seems to always be porn, casino, and Rx/viagra kind of stuff too.

Having a do follow blog has its disadvantages. but in the end you will really reap the reward. You can use plugins like other sites do. they have spam checker where you have to solve the math problem first or enter the word/phrase in the picture.

It will be easy if you just deal with some automated spam comments, IMO Akismet is still able to bury it down. Yet, I have no idea with any repeated comments like you mentioned above that were written by real human. :(

Akismate is the best option to protect your site from spammers. Of course captcha too. And forgot to say, Thanks for offering Dofollow links. Its nice strategy to drive more traffic to any website or blog..

It's a shame to see dedicated doFolow advocates turning it off after getting on too many spammer lists. I wonder how much of your spam comes from robots?, have you tried capchats to cut down on the dumbest robots. I use the "Peter's Custom Anti-Spam" wordpress plugin which generates simple easy to read capchas that some robots will be able to decipher but which don't slow down legit posters. (Some of the capcha images out there are like rorshak patterns)

I think it's a good idea to stay dofollow, after all your blog attracts more comments and attention that way! Why did you switch over in the first place?

And you have every right to be angry with those nasty spammers. I have a blog myself and what really annoys me is when they DON’T EVEN BOTHER to read the darn article. They just ramble about nothing.
P.S. you DO have a nice blog :-)
