Tokyito loves … Amsterdam Bender Travel Ideas
I am thinking of going over to Amsterdam for a couple of days to get away from everything. You know the doom and gloom of the recession etc. Amsterdam one of my favourite beers, and also contains one of my favourite restaurants in the world so it seems like a prime opportunity.
I’ve been looking at either flying to amsterdam or getting the ferry to amsterdam and here’s my quandry so far.
- Plane is quicker, cheaper and more convenient- but is less civilised (flying bus)
- Ferry is longer, more relaxing, a little less convenient but costs a bit more.
So what should I do?
If anyone has travelled by ferry recently to Amsterdam or anywhere TBH can you let me know. I fly quite often so I know what to expect and I’ve not been on a ferry since (apart from St.Kiits to Nevis) and my last ferry across the north sea was over 20 years ago and all I remember doing is throwing up!

Since you’ve flying lately, why don’t you try the ferry. For a new and different experience right? I bet the sounds of flashing water and sea breeze would be a great effects of relaxation.

A few thoughts:
1) You want to relax a bit, go ahead and take the ferry, it’s going to end up being more relaxing anyway and give you that chance to get away from the recession.
2) I hate flying anyway, so I’m biased.
3) But…if you don’t mind flying - maybe a quick flight will give your more time to get down to the business of having fun?
Besides heading to amsterdam isn’t about how you get there, it’s what you do there!

The ferry sounds nice. It gives you time to stop and smell the roses, or in this case the sea air?

I wish I can go to Europe someday. I always wondering what it feels to stay for one or two weeks while enjoying the places.
Nice to meet you

If you are looking into flying into Amsterdam, I would suggest looking into charter flights. Not only are they fairly inexpensive but you also get to see the sights far better than in a commercial plane.
