If you are looking into flying into Amsterdam, I would suggest looking into charter flights. Not only are they fairly inexpensive but you also get to see the sights far better than in a commercial plane.

I wish I can go to Europe someday. I always wondering what it feels to stay for one or two weeks while enjoying the places.

Nice to meet you

The ferry sounds nice. It gives you time to stop and smell the roses, or in this case the sea air?

A few thoughts:

1) You want to relax a bit, go ahead and take the ferry, it's going to end up being more relaxing anyway and give you that chance to get away from the recession.

2) I hate flying anyway, so I'm biased.

3) But...if you don't mind flying - maybe a quick flight will give your more time to get down to the business of having fun?

Besides heading to amsterdam isn't about how you get there, it's what you do there!

Since you've flying lately, why don't you try the ferry. For a new and different experience right? I bet the sounds of flashing water and sea breeze would be a great effects of relaxation.
